This Badminton Season was Downright Smashing

The Sr. High badminton team consisted of 19 students. They competed in the SPAA badminton championship on April 21st in St. Paul. We had some successful performances, below are our medal winners:

Chantelle Guerzon & Brayden Pinette - Bronze - Junior Mixed Doubles

Konnor Poitras - Gold - Intermediate Boys Singles

Nicholas Penner - Bronze - Intermediate Boys Singles

Kade Fontaine & Sam Rogal - Gold - Intermediate Boys Doubles

Rylee Warawa & Jayci Marcoux - Bronze - Intermediate Girls Doubles

Spencer Malachowski - Silver - Senior Girls Singles

Ella Ballas - Bronze - Senior Girls Singles

Konnor Poitras, Kade Fontaine, Sam Rogal & Spencer Malachowski all went to the zone championships in Lac La Biche on April 26. The kids played hard and in the end, Konnor Poitras was the only Crusader to win a medal, earning Bronze in Intermediate Boys Singles.

The Jr High badminton team competed in the Racette Invitational on April 15th in St. Paul. For many it was their first tournament and a great tune up before the SPAA championships on April 25th. At the SPAA championships we had a very successful day bringing home the Jr High Boys Banner and the Jr High Girls Aggregate Banner. We also had a few medal winners which were the following students:
