Central Office August 13, 2021 Post - Back to School
August 13, 2021
This update is in follow-up to today’s announcement made by Education Minister, Adrianna LaGrange and the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw. The announcement reviewed the extended timelines for easing COVID-19 measures, introduced a temporary new in-school vaccination program and shared new health guidance to help school officials prepare for the school year. You can watch the announcement at alberta.ca/news.
Please also see the following Government of Alberta released documents:
2021-2022 School Year Plan (Alberta Education)
Having just received the above information ourselves, we are reviewing the documents in order to set direction for the 2021-2022 school year. We also expect to receive additional information from Alberta Education in the coming days. Meetings will be scheduled with school administrators early next week and fellow superintendents from across the province to review the 2021-2022 School Year Plan. I will be consulting and receiving direction from our Board of Trustees.
There will be a virtual parent and staff information meeting August 13, 2021 (see separate post for details) to provide more details and gather feedback. Please watch our social media and website for further updates.
Thank you for your continued patience and support at this time.
Glen Brodziak
Superintendent of Schools
