Hold and Secure in Place

Dear Parents/Guardians
Today at approximately 2:50 PM Elk Point RCMP informed us to immediately go into a Hold and Secure. This means all outside doors were locked and monitored, and all students were kept inside the building.
Students will be held past dismissal time and buses have been asked to wait at a safe location. In situations such as these we take direction from our RCMP, and we will update you as soon as more information becomes available.
The safety and well-being of students and staff is a top priority for us at all times, and please know in accordance with our protocol, we always fully cooperate with local RCMP. As parents, we always want information about things affecting our children. Please know that as a Division we are committed at all times to provide the most accurate and timely information possible, but at the same time, we must refrain from engaging in speculation or sending out information which could possibly be false or inaccurate.
