This is only a DRILL, a RADD Drill!

On Friday, May 24, 2018, there will be a staged accident in the arena parking lot. This is a drill, a RADD drill (much like the PARTY program) and our senior Crusaders and staff will be witness to what happens at the scene of an accident. This is a STAGED accident, however, town residents may be hearing sirens and seeing emergency vehicles in the arena parking lot. Students from Heinsburg and the Elk Point Out Reach have also been invited to join our Crusaders at this event.

After the staged accident, there will be a presentation on distracted driving in our gym. March 15, 2013, featuring Miss Wade. Miss Renaye Wade was the passenger in a stalled vehicle on the Yellowhead Trail that was struck from behind by a distracted driver. This sent the vehicle Renaye was in into the path of a semi, which ended up hitting her car door. The vehicle was so damaged that the paramedics didn’t even notice Renaye at first. It took the fire department and paramedics 25 minutes to rescue her from the wreckage. The fire department called it a difficult extraction…

RADD stands for Renaye Against Distracted Driving and is a Non-Profit Organization based in Mundare, Alberta that is dedicated to bringing awareness to distracted and careless driving. To learn more about Miss Wade and her crusade against distracted driving visit radd.ca
