25 Years of Flying Shoeboxes! Deadline Friday Nov. 16!
Operation Christmas Child has been one of the wonderful activities that we have done at FGM in an effort to make children smile all year long! Our focus is filling the shoebox with wonderful items that we sometimes take for granted. This is our 25th year of joining the millions of shoeboxes collected each year.
Collection week is Nov 12-18 and our deadline for shoeboxes is Friday, November 16, 2018, at noon. The price of shipping a shoebox has gone up to $10. Please place this on the top of you filled shoebox in the envelope provided. Our focus is sending boxes to the Ukraine (which is a cold weather box) or to Central America (which is a warm weather box). Ukraine labels have also been put in the shoebox. Please tape it to the top of your box if you choose to do one for Ukraine!
Boxes are available just outside the library by the front door of the school. A brochure is enclosed in each box with ideas on what to fill the box and you can even send a personalized Christmas card with well wishes and photos. We hope you choose to fill a shoebox this year and make a child smile!
