Proud as Punch!
F. G. Miller is proud as punch that we have ranked 48 out of 420 schools on the Eight Leaves website. Eight Leaves is a company of software developers and data scientists that crunch numbers for the public sector. A huge congratulations to our Class of 2017 and our staff for all their dedication!

"Each year, Alberta Education publishes diploma examination results for schools and school authorities. We’ve taken the 2016-2017 data and ranked Alberta highs schools by their overall average on the core academic (English 30-1, Social Studies 30-1, Math 30-1, Chemistry 30, Biology 30, Physics 30) diploma exams written by their students. This information is intended to help students, parents, and educators (1) evaluate the academic performance of their high school in comparison to other high schools in the province; (2) compare changes in diploma exam marks over time; and (3) compare overall academic participation (the number of diploma exams written by students) for the core academic diploma courses. We think these rankings are much more straightforward than those produced by the Fraser Institute. Marks don’t tell the whole story, and individual schools should really be viewed in the context in which they operate. But a close look at diploma marks does bring up interesting questions, like why do Calgary public high schools consistently outperform Edmonton public high schools, and why are school marks so much higher than diploma marks?"
