The June 2016 Crusader Updater marked the end of an era here at F. G. Miller High School. This was our last paper copy/email copy newsletter given or emailed to our students and their families.
Social media has become the driving force for communication with our families. Over the past few years, paper copies of our newsletter have not been produced, rather they are sent via email to our families. The next step in this progression was for us was to shift from this form to the digital form - our website - fgmiller.ca. It is important to note that urgent or time sensitive information will be sent out in email form and on facebook FG Miller Jr/Sr High School SPERD (type this in exactly - no punctuation!!) to our families for the 2016-2017 year and onward. Therefore, it is extremely important for the school to have your current/most used email address.
The best way to stay on top of the happenings in the Realm of the Crusaders is to visit our website, fgmiller.ca, and our facebook page (which can be found on our front page in news feed form just in case you do not subscribe to facebook). Here you will find all the information you need.
Our front page offers information on upcoming events, as well as brief paragraphs on what has been going on. Our picture slideshow will give you a taste of life here at FGM. Our bus updates will keep you informed on bus delays or cancellations in inclement weather. Our calendar links, to both our school and the division, will help you plan and schedule for your family.
Our Crusader Calendar contains information on sports practices and games, Wapiti concession menu and prices, activities and events, career events, final test schedules for January and June, and school closure dates. You can even contact us via the Contact Us tab.
We have tabs for our parents and for our students - each specifically designed to meet your needs. For parents we have information on bell times, supply lists, policies, homework/study help, home logic (to check your child's marks) and links to sites that we feel can help you be the best parent you can be. For our students we have links to Google classroom, Moodle, my blueprint, career information, and most importantly our SPERD Learning Commons site - a one stop reference shop for all Division students' study and homework needs.
We are excited to be able to share so much with you, and we encourage you to share with us! If you have any photos or information, you can email Denise_Bjorkman@sperd.ca with your submissions. If your event involves some of our Crusaders, we can try to put your information on our site. We look forward to hearing from you!
