    LLC - Lovely Lady Cheryl

LLC stands for Library Learning Commons, but in this case, we are changing it to Lovely Lady Cheryl to thank her for choosing to do her Mohawk College Library and Information Technician Diploma field placement right here at F. G. Miller High! We certainly got a great deal accomplished and 105 hours flew by with cataloguing, inventory preperation, amazing displays and AR activities! The Crusaders thank you for joining the CRU and wish you all the best in your library quest!

    Starved for Reads?

Our Learning Commons may be closed for the summer, but that doesn't mean that you can't take advantage of a FREE membership at the Elk Point Municipal Library and read all summer long! Remember, membership is free and the EPPL is full of great young adult reads, graphic novels, magazines, DVDs and all their online materials which you can access when you become a member - and that includes movies and music! Plus, if you read this summer and test in the first week, you might e

    Book Barrier Broken!

Breaking news from our LLC (Library Learning Commons)! Grade 8 Crusader, Rachel Zacharuk, had a goal at the end of last year - to break the all time point record for books read (1206.9 points earned by Alex Bernhardt-Sasseville in June of 2013/14) in the AR program. Yesterday, during the lunch break, the Book Barrier was broken with her count at 1207.2 points! Just to put that into perspective....since the beginning of this year, Rachel as read 130 books containing 9 084 371

Tuneful Tuesdays - Loud and Proud

The end of the year's shortest month brought the return of karaoke to our LLC (Library Learning Commons). Crusaders will again be able to experienced the thrill of the microphone each Tuneful Tuesday in our LLC as part of our continuing crusade of turning our library space into a learning commons space. Today's group was loud and proud, and the students were belting out tunes like Living on a Prayer and Eye of the Tiger just to name a few. We hope to hear a few more voices in

Sweet Success - A Treasure Trove of Books

The Scholastic Book Fair for 2016 has been packed away and the total sales have been added up! The result - a treasure trove of books and profit for our Library Learning Commons. Thanks to the support of our students, families and community, we sold $4459.35 in Scholastic books and products. This amount enabled us to keep $350.00 of books for our collection and prizes for our READO AR reading incentives. In addition to product, we brought home a profit of $920.56 which wi
