This site is designed for ESL learners, but is an excellent resource for online text and audio books.  It includes classics, short stories, novellas, songs, radio dramas, English idioms sayings and slang.  Accelerated Reader books, and novel studies recommended by Alberta Learning for both junior and senior high.

Math Playground is a popular learning site filled with math games, logic puzzles, step-by-step instructional videos, math practice, and a variety of problem solving activities. A favorite of parents and teachers, Math Playground provides a safe place for kids to learn and explore math concepts online at their own pace.


99math is a free platform for building math skills and fluency. It takes a minute to sign up and get access to practice games in over 1000 math skills areas! Students can play with excitement on Chromebooks, iPads or any other device.


XtraMath® is an online math fact fluency program that helps students develop quick recall and automaticity of their basic math facts. Students with a strong foundation of basic math facts will have an easier time when they begin to tackle more advanced math, like fractions or algebra.

The Heritage Community Foundation is committed to connecting people with heritage. Information at the  local, regional, provincial and national levels on a variety of topics.  The Foundation's goal is for heritage to be valued by everyone. Heritage is broadly defined in all its aspects—historical, natural, cultural, scientific and technological.  A wonderful resource for aspects of Alberta - history, culture, geography and more.  A French language version is also available.

The Canadian Encyclopedia plays an essential role in providing Canadians and others with accurate, updated information about our people and country. The Encyclopedia contains more than 30,000 multimedia items including images, maps, games, audio and video. Multimedia is augmented through acquisition and partnerships with Maclean’s magazine and The Canadian Press. The new interactive features include curated content exhibits, interactive timelines, immediate updates of important events and a user-generated content map that invites Canadians to share their stories. The site also offers a new learning centre for teachers and parents that contains classroom resources, quizzes and themed study guides.A French language version is also available.

Miyo Wahkohtowin Community Education Authority (MWCEA) and Dr. Earle Waugh Dir. Center for Culture & Health Family Medicine, University of Alberta (U of A) are partnering to develop a web based interactive First Nations language portal with dictionary and curriculum based resources to further the development for Cree language in Canada.
